Today it was released that in 2022 the European Pro Tour will be played for the first time, where the idea is to create a professional league in Europe similar to the Disc Golf Pro Tour that exists in the USA. Too much is not known yet and more information will surely be released in the coming autumn
The arrangement consists of:
- 7 competitions
- 144 best players
- 5000 Euro is the minimum amount paid out at each competition
- Every event is streamed live by Disc Golf Stream
Known schedule for 2022 so far is:
- Denmark , April
- Sweden , May
- Norway , June
- Tyyni Open, Finland , July
- Estonia Open, Estonia , July
- Turku Open, Finland , August
- EPT All-star & Fuengirola Open, Spain , November
Disc Golf Stream
Is a newly formed company that will cover all competitions in the European Pro Tour. They will also broadcast the Finnish Championships 19-22 August, Prodigy Disc Pro Tour 2021 Final 3-5 September.
The arrangement can only be good for disc golf in Sweden and Europe, a tour of its own that will hopefully increase interest in the sport even more and also make the big stars stay on this side of the Atlantic.
