Turbo putt grepp. Tummen mitt under och fingrarna på utsidan.

The turbo putt is one of the more unusual putting techniques. Turbo putt is technique that can get you out of a lot of difficult situations. Do you have a bush, tree or hill between you and the basket, the technique is exemplary to use.

Turbo putt technique

The disc is placed on top of the hand instead of in the hand like a normal putt. The thumb is placed in the middle under the disc and the fingers around the edge. The number of fingers around the disc can vary depending on taste. The middle finger can be pushed under the disc instead of having it on the outside. One or more fingers under the disc can be good to get a better grip on the disc. It is from the fingers that the power will come to the disc.

The index finger is the finger that puts the last spin on the disc, as it is the last finger to leave the disc. Move your arm forward as you begin to rotate the disc. If you are right-handed, the hand and the disc are rotated outwards.

Throwing the turbo putt is very similar to throwing an overhand ball or throwing a dart in the arm motion.

3 points about Turbo putt

  • Good for tight spaces
  • Good to know when there are obstacles between you and the basket
  • The disc rotates in the opposite direction compared to regular putts, which makes it fly differently
